Thorens single claw, 1914
Title: Thorens single claw
Type: Semi-automatic petrol lighter
Year: 1920
Country: Switzerland
Approximate cost: $ 50-200
The patent on the lighter Thorens was obtained in 1914, but the lighter was produced from about 1920. This is one of the first models of automatic lighters with a lid on the spring: when you press the lid opened and simultaneously cuts out a spark, light the wick. The wheel was rotated at the opening of the lid with a hook, which in earlier models Thorens located on only one side wheel, hence the name «single claw». The earliest models had a plug for charging on the side of the end lighters, lighters were later fueled by a screw hole in the bottom.
