At the bottom of the lighter a French tax stamp - such marks were placed on all imported lighters around France from 1912 to 1950. It was an economic measure to restrict imports of lighters from other countries and to support the producers in France. By the way, followed by Belgium, too, in those years of the same policies, however, the Belgian stamps are found on the lighter rare.

Ronson Ramaspin, 1945-1946

Manufacturer: Art Metal Works
Title: Rama-Spin
Type: gasoline lighter
Material: copper, brass
Year: 1945
Country: United States
Approximate cost: $ 40-100

This model - one of the most mysterious in the line of gasoline Ronson mid-20th century. It was invented and patented by the designer of Art Metal Works Kaupmannom Frederick in 1945, and legend says that this is why this model is not bears the name «Ronson» - as all other models of that time were invented and patented by Louis Aronson. I know of two kinds of Rama-Spin, one issued to obtain a patent, it is obvious in 1945 or early 1946, and the other after, on the bottom and has a patent number D145218. These models are not only inscribed on the bottom, including the designation of the manufacturer, but also other small construction details. Photos delivered in pairs: the old (before 1946) and new (1946 or later) model.
