This is one of the very popular 1950 musical Japanese lighters Hadson. Arranged it quite interesting: the mechanism inside it, and is equipped with a factory stopper (the lever at the top of the winding key). At the same time when you press the ignition of the insert extends the pin that lifts the musical mechanism with stopper - so if there is a mechanism in the plant, the melody begins to play itself with ignition flame. Self musical mechanism preloaded metal plate which abuts against the inside of the housing. Body is made of fairly lightweight alloy, and is like a resonator for the music box - the volume of the lighter is big enough (and the mechanism separately, being removed from the body, plays a very quiet).
Of particular value to this instance also gives the engraving: it belonged to an officer with the US air base Kadena on Okinawa, and not just to the officer, and a member of the officers' club.
