Thorens single claw, 1914
Title: Thorens single claw
Type: Semi-automatic petrol lighter
Year: 1920
Country: Switzerland
Approximate cost: $ 50-200
Patent on a lighter Thorens was obtained in 1914, but the lighter was produced from about 1920. This is one of the first models of automatic lighters with a cap on the spring: when you press the lid opened and simultaneously strike sparks, light the wick. Wheel spinning when you open the lid with a hook that on early models Thorens was only one side of the wheel, hence the name «single claw». The earliest models had a plug for charging on the side of the end lighters, lighters later became refuel through the screw hole in the bottom.
Similar lighters:
- Thorens single claw, 1920
- Thorens slim, 1920
- Thorens Teleflam, 1920
- Thorens Sports, 1935
- Thorens Vedette, 1948

Have very similar Thorens lighter without screw holes in the bottom.
To "Leybe" instead of "cross" is written «EXPORT». At the bottom: «DRP 332696-334028»
Question: What is this feature?
kypexin - 05.09.2011
Apparently, this is an export version, which indicate the number of German patent.

Small question: read somewhere that the most distinctive feature of the first models of this tube and solid side button (no screws), just wrote that the first models were produced without the ornament on the body. Is this true? and is there any signs of the models of the first parties (material, inscriptions, etc.)?
